Ello, ello! Happy new year (again) as of four days ago! I am definitely not late for this challenge, you saw nothing. Welcome to the year of the tiger, and I do hope that you're all on the prowl again for some jolly good Karry-O-Ki. ...Singing, that is. Your favorite, and possibly new songs that you've learned!

Not just the Year Of The Tiger, it's also creeping ever closer to Materialism Single's Valentine's Day, as usual, of course, and as such let's tackle the evergreen themes... with a bit of a twist.

The theme this month is: Your Favorite Singles (Or Duets!) On The Prowl - For LOVE!

Did I pack four ideas into this month's theme? Absolutely. I wanna give you guys a broad range of stuff to choose from.

You're welcome to select a song which falls into any of these themes, although extra points and cookies go to people who hit multiple selections at once, like pinball (and I'll be trying to pounce on all four of them in one song, because I'm nuts!)

To be clear, the four themes that you can choose from are:

1. Songs that were released as singles, not from albums.
2. Songs that are duets, because we here at GWABK love collaboration. You can also do, more singers than a duet, if you can rustle up the singers.
3. Songs that make you feel like you're going on the prowl for... something. Maybe someone. Maybe someone special. Maybe someone... mysterious.
4. Songs about Love.~

You wanna sing a song about hate, but it's a single? Take it away! You wanna sing a song that makes you feel like you're on the prowl, but it's slightly creepy? Take it away! (You can take that either way. Ayyyy.)

It's up to your interpretation, and I will be around, so ask me questions. If you're unsure, err on the side of "do it anyway, with confidence", because just like Valentine's Day (dinners or gifts) it looks like you planned it in advance, and we will love listening to it regardless.

If you've never heard of GWABK before, well, here are the rules:

• You can reserve up to 2 songs per username, and you can reserve in advance (first come, first served.) Reservations will be published below as a table.
  • Any songs (all of) you pick will be listed here, and in an effort to stop fourteen versions of Marvin Gaye's Let's Get It On from populating the karaoke bar, I will only be allowing one version of a song per language per solo singer, so get your songs reserved fast.
• Submit your recordings by commenting on this post, or by messaging me here. My DMs are perpetually open.
  • If you chuck up your karaoke recordings as separate posts on GWAB without twigging me here, I am liable to miss it, and it may be lost to the swathe of general GWAB posts in the future, so please do let me know so I can notate your amazing singing onto the list.
• Collaborations are more than welcome! I mean, look, one of the themes is about it... and I'mma do something a bit different this month - collaborations do not count against your song limits. That means, if you somehow manage to rustle up party members, the party could go on for 14 duets or choruses if you wanted.
• The closing date for this GWABK Challenge is 11:59pm on Monday, 28th February 2022 in UTC/GMT. Reservations close at that time and I'll give you a few more days to sleep off the hangover fulfill your reservation(s). But let's just say the prowl ends there.
  • There'll be a "Wrap Up" post around there again! (....probably. Hopefully POV doesn't have to pick up my slack again!)

It is an absolutely well-deserved retirement, and if anyone else wants to pick this up as a monthly host, do tell, since me and u/POVScribe can't do this forever..... But if you're blanking on themes, hit me up, because I quite literally never run out of theme ideas.)

I just want to be very clear, it doesn't matter if this is the first time you've ever sung, or if this is the first time you've ever applied to a GWABK challenge. We welcome any and all singers, any and all levels, and if anybody ever dares tell you otherwise, that, you know, your singing sucks, bring 'em to me. Cause I feel like going on the hunt and obliterating some assholes.
