Is there a way to indicate change of scenes/skipping time in scripts?

Kind of a silly question but:-

While writing scripts, the biggest barrier that I feel is the fact that everything has to be in one scene..

While thinking of a way to changing scenes, the first thing that comes to mind is a change in SFX, eg. Outdoorsy to Indoor sounds. But that's not reliable either.

Naturally, we can't have the performers announce '1 day later' or 'Mariah's home'.

I was wondering if someone has experimented with something like this?
