Hello Backstage. đ
Itâs âMarshmallow,â White Day next week. Fun fact, it was an attempt for Marshmallow confectionery to become a gift for male recipients, but it didnât really become culturally popular. Thus, it became the reciprocal day of Valentineâs Day in Japan and some other countries in the East. I thought itâd be interesting to ask you the same Valentineâs Day questions but, reversed.
I cannot reciprocate the warmth and love this community has given, tenfold. But, Iâd like to thank you all for what you do and what you bring to this slice of the internet. You are noticed and are appreciated. Thank you so much for your time and efforts. Thank you and keep going!
How does sending a white envelope make you feel? â (Whether it be leaving comments or direct messages.)
What sort of comments, DMs or 'confessions of love', do you send? Short and sweet? Long and detailed? Praise or constructive feedback?
What is your process of leaving love or feedback on a post? Is there a format you follow? (When is it appropriate to send a white envelope to a performer, scriptwriter etc? Is there an etiquette about it?)
What do you love about the feedback or reception you receive? If you are a performer, scriptwriter, editor, sound mixer, listener or lurker, share with us, how you reciprocate the praise or love you may receive.
What is love to you? (What are you grateful for?)
Are we fans or followers in an audible world? (Does this difference create a power imbalance? We all seek validation, so when does the love become too much? Do the words simping and stanning come to mind?)
If I could get you anything right now, what would that be? (Is there something you want to hear? Thank you? I appreciate you etc. Or do you simply want a high five? A hug? A stuffed toy? Something to eat or drink?)
How would you rank the following? According to what youâd do to show your love in an audible world.
- Words of Praise (A comment or DM)
- Physical (Need I say? Self-love as you enjoy yourself. Masturbâ or simply listening?)
- Gifts (A shiny Reddit award)
- Quality Time (Time spent exploring previous audios or scripts the creator has made)
- Acts of Service (Showing you care through actions rather than words, constant comments, upvotes, subscription/following etc.)
There is a beauty about what you do here in the audible world. Even if youâre shy or anxious, you too, cause ripples of love that can later result in waves. We appreciate you and people do notice, you are noticed and we thank you, for you being you. There is no one quite like you. We all crave validation and acceptance, but what you reciprocate in interactions and responses, it all creates a wonderful community. <Group Hug>
Now, have something to eat and drink. Continue to take care of yourself as you are important. You are worthy of being loved. Take care of yourself physically and mentally. Take breaks. Take some time for yourself. Take the time to breathe. Inhale... and then exhale. Appreciate the community and others around you, but appreciate yourself too!
Thank you for reading, and I look forward to all of your answers. Thank you.
Bonus optional questions:
- Are there any words of love or thank youâs youâd like to share? (You know the drill, donât spill names or I will make sure you hydrate...)
Last time, I talked about, Amortentia (the most powerful love potion in the world). Letâs reverse this, you are the marvel powerful of spreading love.
- How would you describe the smell, that others associate to you? Or applied to the audible world, how would you describe, your voice? (How you sound to others and yourself?)
đȘ Have a wonderful day, afternoon, evening etc.
