1) is it acceptable for a script to include ādirectionsā between the lines of dialogue, to flesh out any inflections/tone/emotional state/etc that the writer had in mind while scripting? Or does that come across too much like trying to control the finished product and denying a performerās individuality?
2) Iām not at all opposed to someone putting their own spin on a script, whether thatās tweaking lines for a more natural fit, or ad-libbing/changing entire lines or scenes (although the bigger the change, the more appreciated a DM in advance would be). Should I make a point of mentioning this flexibility with every script post, or is it kinda understood that fillers get to have a certain amount of leeway/input (again, provided they can communicate any major changes beforehand)?
(I realize the answer to both is probably a big āol āit depends,ā but I just wanted to get a sense of general trends in the community.)
Thanks in advance to anyone who takes the time to reply š„³
