Questions regarding Directing in Scripts

Post Body

Hello GWA friends :)

My name is Forest Firefly, and I'm a script-writer for GWA. I asked a few general questions on script writing advice a few days ago, and reading all the comments and feedback was so educational and fun! I’m back with three more questions, and any input would be absolutely fantastic.

Question 1: Regarding stage directions, is precision helpful or is it a nuisance? For example, consider the following two versions of the same line:

  • (In between kisses) I can’t believe this is finally happening. I’ve waited so long to do this. To taste you. To taste *all* of you.
  • I can’t believe this is finally happening [Kiss]. I’ve waited so long to do this. To taste you. [Kiss] To taste *all* of you.

Is the first version of the line too vague? Is the second version too stringent? Or does it not matter either way?

Question 2: Replace the word “Kisses” with the word “Moans” in the lines above. Do your answers to the questions change? Do you prefer different levels of direction for different actions?

Question 3: And finally, how do your answers change regarding giggles, gasps, sighs, whimpers, blowjob sounds, wet pussy sounds, and so on? What’s the logic for those “sound effects”?
