Writing a script for the first ti[m]e. Any top dos/don’ts for me?

Post Body

I have a fun outline, some cute, likeable characters, and a decent amount of preamble to set the scene for where things are heading.

Now that I’m getting to the part where things heat up, it’s starting to feel a little more difficult to write.

How “scripted” should a script actually be? Are there any hard and fast rules around it being performed word for word, or do you leave it open to the performer’s imagination and let them fill between the lines? Things like noises, for example. I mean, should I be scripting all the sexy noises and words that they should be making, or leave it open?

I kinda feel like giving some freedom would be a better option, albeit only because when I’ve considered filling other scripts I’ve been put off by silly little things like specific words that just wouldn’t really sound natural for me to say.

Any thoughts on this kinda thing, and/or just general advice on writing a script, would be awesome to hear, thank you.
