Hello,
I noticed a few audios with the tag [improv] lately and was wondering what to think of it. My impression was that if somebody else's script was used it had to be mentioned preferably in the title but at least in the post so I assumed any audio that wasn't specifically a [script fill] was improvised. It occurred to me this doesn't account for audios that are based on scripts the performers wrote themselves or had written for them in private. Could be a complete script, could be script parts with improvised bits in between, or maybe just notes. This wouldn't necessarily be reflected in the tags so the [improv] tag does have merit.
If you don't mind, I would like to pick your brains a bit:
As listeners, do you care whether an audio is improvised or follows a script?
What positive or negative ideas does [improv] imply about the audio for you?
If an audio isn't explicitly tagged [improv], do you assume it's (at least partially) scripted even if no script is mentioned in the title or the post?
If there is anything else you want to add to the discussion, please feel free!
