Yes, girls rock :) I chose all these ladies because they have influenced me on some level. No...I'm not a professional musician (though a couple people might agree that I know how to sing), but music is my lifeblood. We have, for example, Billie Holiday who reminds me of baking with my grandmother... "Mama" Cass Elliot who not only had a set of pipes, but was a beautiful alternative to the London models on the runways in the 60's(think Twiggy). And of course less we forget the quintessential girl bands whose cassette tapes lived in my Fisher-Price player: Heart and The Pretenders...Tina Turner could always sing up a storm while embracing her femininity ...sporting those famous wigs and gorgeous legs. All these songs make me wanna sing into a hairbrush in front of my bathroom mirror. I hope you all join me!! If not in the bathroom then at the bar. -u/Jm_Delphi

Bamba’s Bar Bite

Chorizo a la sidra

I don't know about anyone else, but in the northern hemisphere it's getting to be pretty damn chilly no matter when you look at the thermometer. So I thought we'd need something warm and comforting this week!

For anyone who doesn't speak Spanish, chorizo a la sidra is just "chorizo in cider"; more specifically, it's bite sized slices of smoky pork sausage spiced with Spanish paprika, cumin, garlic, oregano, and thyme, sauteed in olive oil until just starting to caramelize. The morsels are then braised in a fresh and fruity apple cider until a deliciously sweet, salty, and spicy sauce forms. Served with a sprinkle of fresh thyme leaves and a hunk of crusty sourdough bread to mop of all of that sauce!
