Thirsty Thursday 201 - Jewels, Gems, and Precious Metals

As we work our way through Themed Playlists, we thought it would be fun to do Jewels and Precious metals. We purposely skipped over diamonds, because that could (and likely will) be a whole playlist to itself.

Be on the lookout in the coming weeks, as ReVEALedCacciatore will undergo some changes in order to broaden its impact on the world at large.

Bamba’s Bar Bite

I dunno about the rest of you guys, but autumn is finally here in Colorado and it is chilly, gloomy, drizzly and kiiinda miserable outside. Therefore, I thought some comfort food from the "Old Country" of my family would help cheer us up! ...or at least, just me.

These little dumplings are wrapped in a simple dough of only flour, water and egg, but there are literally dozens of ways you can fill them before boiling them and then pan-frying in a little butter. I've chosen four of these variations, both sweet and savory!

• Traditional potato and cheese: A mixture of mashed potatoes and quark (kinda like a mix between cream cheese and ricotta), seasoned with a dash of nutmeg and garlic powder

• Chopped lamb, sauerkraut, and caramelized onion: It's all there in the name; meaty chunks of lamb, tart sauerkraut and sweet caramelized onions, flavored with a pinch of ground rosemary

• Blueberry: Whole blueberries, mint and sour cream

• Apple: Diced and stewed apples, with a liberal pinch of cinnamon, a dash of vanilla, and finished with a drizzle of caramel
