Bamba's Bar Bite

Beignet-style hush puppies

This evening's bar bite comes at the request of /u/NickelSilver, who got through Hurricane Irma unscathed, yaaay~! If you haven't already, you can choose to donate to relief efforts though United Way.

Anyway, onto the bar bite! To celebrate the Southern states, we're fusing two classic comfort foods into one! These hush puppies are a triple threat of sweet kernel corn, corn meal, and corn flour, whisked into a batter with milk, butter, and eggs, and flavored with finely chopped parsley and scallions. The batter is then spooned into hot oil, fried until lovely and crispy, and dusted with a generous amount of confectioner's sugar. Are they sweet? Are they savory? Yes! (By the way, you can PM /u/NickelSilver for the recipe!)
