Skill IS used in the loosest possible sense
Story Time: So I was playing DnD with a mate and some random people at a local game store and one guy who plays a ranger does what he always does. BE AN UNCOMFORTABLE SOD. After braving the dungeon and restoring balance to the backwater village of Well Water. Everyone decides to celibrate in an inn. And this is were the awkward begins. He begins to hit on his two female party members...
Now we'd already told him not to do stuff like that, because it makes people uncomfortable and makes them want to stop playing. Either way after they shut him down he decides to flirt with the barmaid serving them... Which of course IS ME.
Normally when players do this I just do what most waitresses do when someone flirts with them either make a sarcastic comment or ignore them. This time however I decided the awkward Debt must be paid. So acting the ditzy bimbo I flirted back. Agressively. You could see the bright smiles on the other players as the ranger began to sweat nervously when the barmaid asked him to sleep in her room for the night.
He bravely pushes on as he says "So the next morning."
I shake my head "What sweety? Don't you want to come and play with me?" Cat noise
He shakes his head violently and says "NO"
I feel like an arsehole on the one hand, but some lessons are better taught with a Club than a feather.
So tell me GWAB when did your skills come up useful?
He did, so far atleast.
Don't get me wrong he's not a bad person he just needs to drink a lot more water.
Infact this is the only one i've met in 5 years of running the game. So yes he is in the very very small minority.
I've always been the DM. Which means I get to do all kinds of characters. From sweet orphans to grim Dwarves and of course buxom barmaids (I guess). But first thing a player taught me to have no shame when doing voices for this kind of stuff (However bad I am at them).

Attention to detail is important Mako, but I think you already had an eye for the finer things in life.
