This topic has been on my mind for a while, and I’m very curious as to what other people think.

I’m not talking ‘response’ audios, I’m talking, umm, independent audios built around favourite things of a particular person and posted in public as a surprise, a sort of a ‘Secret Santa’ audio outside the ‘Secret Santa’ event.

When I wrote the draft of this post, I understood that I have A LOT of negativity attached to the matter in my mind. XD Which is ridiculous, because, really, how can making an audio present for someone/getting one from someone be anything but fun and, umm, good? However, A LOT depends on the people involved in the transaction; depending on their history (or lack of it, perhaps) such presents can be a bad thing.

As the maker: have you ever made one or plan to? Did/Will you let the recipient know, or did/will you just leave the audio out there hoping them to see it? What if the recipient misses the audio, or ignores it, or doesn’t like it? How far outside your comfort zone are you willing to go to make the audio fun for the recipient? On the whole, how the idea makes you feel, excited (because it’s like picking a present for a friend), or vulnerable (because rejection sucks and the risk is high), or?..

As the (potential) recipient: have you ever had one made for you and/or do you want someone to do it for you in the future? Do you find the idea adorable and touching, or creepy? (I’m thinking the ladies would most probably find it creepy and stalker-ish, correct me if I’m wrong) Will you be thinking less of the maker because of them being a suck-up? :D What if the audio will be outside of the usual stuff made by the maker – will you think ‘How nice of them to step outside their comfort zone for me!’ or ‘I know they don’t really enjoy it and are just doing it for me, ugh!’ Again, how the idea of such audios makes you feel in general?

As a member of general GWA population: how do such things make you feel when you see them posted?
