Scary story for a Sunday morning - I had to share this because of the thread about Listening paranoia/guilt from a few days ago. This happened about 5 minutes ago.
I am working at a hotel today on an event and I pulled up Reddit on my phone while I was on the escalator and when I got to my destination, stuck my phone in my pocket.
Somehow, during the course of plugging in my laptop and grabbing a chair from another location, my pocket managed to select an audio from my "saved" list (The Lost Tourist by /u/qarnivore) and then it managed to START IT PLAYING!!!
Thank the gods that the audio starts off really innocent and I managed to recognize where the noise was coming from and what was playing before the audio got anywhere naughty.
I played it off as an audio book that I was listening to, but HOLY SHIT!!! Scariest thing to happen at work in a long time. Not that it'll stop me from doing it again, but I'll be more careful about locking my screen 😝
faints
(It's like the set up for a meta audio where someone gets caught listening on accident... When I put it in that context, it's kind of hot LOL)
