Has anything gained from your experience with GWA ever helped you in your non-GWA life?
Recently, in an (obviously) completely unrelated to GWA career situation, I realized that certain skills I had picked up from my experience at GWA helped me quite a bit in that situation.
I was wondering if anyone else has also had this experience. Not necessarily work related - just anything in your non-GWA life in general.
So, my experience:
I recently applied for a different position with my company and one of the things I had to do in the process was a digital video interview. No one else is participating in the interview - they just put a series of questions on the screen and you answer them while being recorded.
I was afraid that it might be awkward talking and being recorded with nobody else there. But I need not have worried because it turns out that from the first question it seemed really familiar (albeit much less sexual) and I was already pretty good at it - like we all are at being recorded while talking to no one. So thanks GWA for this life skill!
