Hello Backstage!!! As everyone knows, I'm pretty nerdy and I'm curious to see what some of you guys are into whether its:
- DnD
- Pen and paper RPGs
- Board/table top games
- Video games
Bring stories of your favorite games, encounters, character and anything in between.
Not a big nerd but have questions about systems and games? Feel free to post as well!
-Allie
To make things easy, I'll go first. I'm still pretty new to DnD but my first character was a Drunken Tiefling Monk and nothing funnier than during my first campaign, the more my character drank the better her stats got.. and basically I rolled high enough to bitch slap an enemy with my tail and not fall over intoxicated.
Also I make a sassy Bard lol
Why am I not surprised it'd be fighting games Avalon? Though which street fighter character is your all time favorite? I have to be that person.
And you forgot to mention that fighting games are their own version of stress relief too
Omg... take me with you!!! Please?! Though for infinite, I think the question is which one? (Trying not to get all spoiler like)
Shows what I know lol I think I came back for the start of that expansion but I never got to play a lot of it. My old machine couldn't run it
Just means you're doing it right Playful. That's me and Diablo 3 right now
I was waiting to see when you might pop up lol
WoW still counts. Which expansion are they on now? I stopped after Warlocks or whichever that expansion was
You have a wonderful taste in games. Pandemic Legacy is on my wish list if I can get a group together and Hanabi is another fun one as well. So much game much wow <3
You play Diablo 3 Wiley?!!??! I'm leveling up a crusader right now myself
I think we tossed around the idea of it for awhile but I don't think anything ever came of it Hmmm maybe :p And I think I can forgive you for wanting to be Alliance (I'm a Hoarde player for the most part unless I play my Worgies)
Yeah I'm optimistic about it though some of the game play I've seen is just fantastic
Are they doing anything super crazy and new with it?
Ooooh those are always a good bunch to have and omg Ticket to Ride is my jam!!!!!
D&D is a lot of run and definitely something you should try one day if you're into roleplaying
I can't wait to see what they come up with next season. The only thing I hate is that after its on the show, finding that game ever again is rough for awhile
Roll20 is amazing. I used it for DnD and Shadowrun games and such. I'm jealous- I've been itching to play DnD soooooo badly... and Alliance?! (well I did too for the Worgies).
And I'm sooo nervous for XCOM 2
Uh uh. Mine should be drunken monk at this point lol
And why am I not surprised that you're playing a bard Wholly? :p
I'm still getting used to figuring it out but my goodness, so many books and such to read through and understand. I'm trying though!!
Also wow that does sound amazing. And its just a card game?
You should play it for sure! It's amazing
OOooh wait is that the same channel that has the LARPing?
I'm really excited to check out some things for it.
I just started getting into Diablo 3 so that's totes my jam right now... between that, steam games and the PS4, that's my video game life. I heard Wolfenstein was a good game though! I'm totes jelly right now also about Fallout 4! I still need to finish that game
Oh I do that! I have just a wish list of games I've seen on there and getting to see them essentially play tested is soooo nice
Omg you get bonus points for having a Randy marsh swamp deck and for being a bard.
Bard life ain't easy :p
Yay Arra! <3 You mentioned two of my favorite game companies. You can stay lol
But no really, you mentioned quite a few games that I had never heard of. Off to the internet (or to bug you with questions)
It really was though!! Have there been any new ones even out these days?
Just like with Pokémon and it's ever expanding ranks
Well then you're just making things harder on yourself
That sounds like an amazing NPC. I swear sometimes they are just as much fun to make as characters are
And you jumped into games swinging lol Btw how are you liking Fallout 4? I feel like I haven't spoken to you about it in forever!
I think the only thing I liked about the second one was the music from when Electro or whatever his character name is would hit things
MtG is something that I tried once upon a time but an ex ruined it for me. Maybe one day I'll pick it back up. Is it easy for someone beginner level to get into?
Aww yeah I've wanted to learn how to GM games but I'm still trying to learn the game mechanics and I've only been in two games though both were short.
Also thats an awesome character. All of mine tend to be drunken apparently lol
That's so freaking awesome! Now that I know that, I'm so glad that I got to do it.
I'm not sure what I played but in games like those, I tend to go for more hunter/druid types or anything that tends to lend itself to be more melee intensive.
You know, you make a good point. While I kind of liked some of the Amazing Spiderman movies, Marvel knows what it's doing
Foal!!! Im glad to see you posting on here and aww I'm jealous of your DM experience. I've been trying to get a new campaign going but maybe one day! What's your backstory if I can be so curious?
Oh man I remember RIFT. That was my crack for a long long time and I'm glad I'm not the only one who appreciates Telltale adventure games. I approve
EDIT: BTW how do you feel about new Spidey in Marvel land and how he might be in 'CA:CW'?
Roll20!!! I am quite a fan of the things that you can do on there for sure
Oh man! Dead of Winter was my jam for the longest time. What's on your need to try list?
And I've heard that about Arkham games though
I second this. Board game arena has a lot of fun games on there
Oh you'd be surprised. I'm horrid at CHA based characters
I actually haven't heard too much about the Savage Worlds system. Is it comparable to DnD in terms of mechanics?
You've played Exploding kittens?! My jealousy level is sooo high
I did for 2 sessions... I was the worst ever
quack_duck!!!! That's amazing that you've been able to have a homemade campaign for that long. I'm jealous!!! I'm involved in a Shadowrun community here on Reddit but I eventually want to get into another campaign.
I've heard of Boss Monster but ever played it. Is it more of a deck builder type game? And there's an interactive TNG board game?!?!?!
Also let me know how DA:Inquisition plays
Yo're making me go look up things! I've never heard of Balderdash but I always love finding new games. I'm trying to grow my collection
I approve of all of your decisions Insert and which King's Quest? I've been rewatching game grumps play through it and it looks like such a fun game
Oh snap! Bishy <3
Druids are hella fun. My first chara was my monk and I can say that I think I love that style now but I always have a soft spot for druids and Magic totes counts!!!
And tsum tsum and literally like crack
I'm sooo surprised this post blew up but I'm glad that it is. Us nerds gotta stay together for sure!
Oh man Bloodbowl! I've seen bits and pieces but never played though I play Shadowrun here on Reddit even if I am absolutely terrible at it!
How did you get started in LARPing if I may ask?

I've been debating checking out Heroes of the Storm. I just started playing Diablo 3 so I know all about dat Blizzard life!
Omg you have to play Dead of Winter. I won one of the two games that I played but it's very interesting in terms of how a player wins and a lot of replay ability.
I would love painting minis. I just love painting
