I was reading a post on /r/AskMen and found this comment interesting. It talks about the six basic human emotional needs and I thought it was applicable to GWA.
Feeling safe and secure: The community does a great job of being accepting with kinks and fetishes, so it's a good avenue for self-exploration.
Excitement and variation: There's always new people or older posters pushing the envelope and trying out new things/giving you a different perspective on something.
To be seen and to be noticed: Even if you're not posting, commenting in itself remedies this. And we also have so many people who started out by PMing that are now posting audios!
Experience love and belonging: The community does a great job of being a social hub, even for those who don't post audios. The interaction alone is enough to keep people coming back.
To contribute: Every post/comment is a contribution to the group.
To progress as a person: Whether it's your work in the audios or learning things about yourself, this place can definitely give you that feeling.
When all combined, these things could make a place like GWA too comfortable for someone, to the point where it might replace other activities in life. Which leads me to my question:
Has anyone ever felt like GWA is an addiction and if so, how do you combat it? Are you able to keep it in perspective and healthy?
