Growing up with just one radio at home, my taste in music invariably followed whatever my dad likes, like this song by Pat Boone, on cassette! Then came my “trying to be cool” teen years and I cringed at such “oldies”. Being older now, I can begin to appreciate again these songs. Part of their beauty is how simple their melodies are, that anyone who sings them brings their own flair and affectations so no two versions are ever alike haha. This one is a more jazzy version, inspired by various covers on youtube, particularly Giulia Meci, Tim Lerch and few others.
This is my little love song for you. Happy Valentine’s Day! <3
And if you haven’t yet, do join in the fun with the GWAB Karaoke Challenge, with February’s theme Songs with Heart. Just reserve your song with friendly host POVscribe and sing your heart out with joy :)
