Struggling with ASI mods, need help

Two things:
I’ve downloaded scripthook and placed the three files from it into the gta folder. (The asi program, the other one, and native trainer), I thought that after that all I had to do was place asi mods in the gta folder and they would work but I’m not successful. All that’s really worked is native trainer. Any tips or good instructions?
Is it possible to shoot guns as a cat using native trainer and if so how? Because that’s exactly what I want to do in the meantime.
