How come the BMW M5 e39 isn't in this game?

That's got to be my favorite non Italian super car. Has the e39 ever been in any GT? Any chance of an update that would include this car? I haven't played this game since whenever the very first one came out and can't wait to get my hands on gt5, just wished they included the e39.
