Around this time only, last year, I’d taken the GRE for the first time. I’d expected over 325, got 321 (163Q, 158V, 4.5 AWA). I was extremely disappointed, especially with my quant performance, as I had been consistently getting 168 in all the mocks.
After a lot of thinking last month I’d again decided to sit for the GRE. This time to I went full throttle for quant, almost entirely solved the 5lb book. As it turned out, it actually worked. I scored 329 (170Q, 159V). I am elated as I finally got the quant score I had been eying for since the beginning.
Few pointers from my prep: 1. Did both verbal and quant from the 5lb book. 2. Did verbal from Princeton Review and Kaplan workbook also. 3. Attempted a few verbal tests from the big OG GRE book. 4. For vocabulary, followed Barron’s 800 words book. 5. For AWA, @gregmat 6. I had scored 334 & 332 in my PP1 & PP2 tests.
I found the quant to be tougher and more confusing (especially the stats questions) than the PP tests. In verbal, the SEs were kinda confusing.

For general practice, it is nice. However, it has many words which you won’t find in the other preparation materials.
