Trying to recover an old Gmail account. Recovery email is good but recovery phone number is long gone. Google wants to send a code to that phone, otherwise tells me I can't access the account, even though I have the recovery email
Post Body

What happens is, I enter the password and then google says it wants to verify me

It only gives me the option for a recovery phone number which is long gone

If I say "try another way", it asks me to use the last password I remember. I enter the password I used to log in to the account.

It then tells me that I can't recover the email, and to make a new one. Thing is, I noticed emails coming into my MAIN account warning me of a "critical security risk" on the old account. My main account is listed as the recovery email!

How come Google won't let me use my recovery email instead? How can I fix this?
