All the "don't get too excited cuz you might accidentally sell" is such weird and terrible logic.
If you want to get excited and pumped about the potential news? Fucking go for it!! Just keep holding at the same time.
If it doesn't pan out? Keep holding anyway!!! It'll happen eventually!!
I think it's a HUGE underestimation of this community that the prevailing thought is that we'll all fold and sell if we experience mild let downs and disappointments. Fuck that shit. By every measurable metric we had we've held thru so much worse than "some news turned out to not be true."
The constant warnings of "be careful everyone what if it's not true!!!" So fucking what?? Does it change a damn thing?? No! Just hold, and let yourself feel whatever you want! Quit vilifying hope as if it's going to be our Achilles heel. Like I said, we've already been thru the crucible. Some news not panning out WILL NOT phase this group of primates.
Apes are fucking strong together. So if you wanna go fucking bananas over this possibly starting the domino chain? I trust you all to hold while your tits are jacked.
EDIT: Fantastic framing of this from a comment on a comment of mine in a different thread by u/flintspike
I've said this so many times. I think people getting excited is super healthy for this. It makes morale high and when morale is good, we buy more. We already know we aren't selling so what's the harm in a little bit of fun speculation.
If it is Christmas Eve and I (a 6 year old boy) wake up on Christmas and want to open my presents, then find out it is actually the 23rd, Its not like I get so sad that I set my presents on fire. I just wait more.
Why is this so hard to understand?
