I would like to start this post with the obligatory reminder that this is speculation. I have no idea what I'm talking about, I eat crayons. I've also never played FURI myself and am just basing this on my research. If anyone has played the game before, please fill in any of the gaps in the comments.
I decided to rewatch some of RK's memes and take notes on them. I found some weird coincidences in his FURI post. Stick with me for a few minutes.
There are three possible endings in the game based on the choices made by the player. RK has 2 hidden videos on his YouTube, could he upload a 3rd to represent the last possible ending?
The endings are as follows:
The first ending is the easiest to unlock, but it does not give you a lot of answers when it comes to the story of the game. Before the encounter with The Song the enemy will offer you a peaceful solution in which you stop fighting and you stay in the prison created by her. If you accept it, the game will end and you won't be able to fight five more bosses.
The possibility to unlock the second ending arises after killing The Beat. After going through the credits you will be able to get to the building visible in the distance and from there to the orbit. Afterwards, you will be able to decide whether you want to destroy the planet located below, or the station you are currently on. The first choice will end the game and you will not be able to fight The Star boss.
The third ending happens when you decide to save the planet and destroy the space station. In this scenario an encounter with the defense systems of the station will start, which is one of the most difficult battles in the game. If you defeat the enemy Furi will land on the planet and the game will end.
The main character in FURI is known as Rider, AKA "The Stranger", I am speculating this is meant to represent us and the different paths we will be able to take along this journey. Will we compromise? Will we take our new wealth and destroy the planet? Or will we work to save our planet?
Here is an excerpt from their wiki:
Furi is a fast-paced game with elements of twin-stick shooters, bullet hell, and third-person action games inspired by games such as No More Heroes, Metal Gear Solid, and Godhand.
You will be challenged in one-on-one arena boss fights that get progressively harder.
The game begins with The Stranger being held captive and progresses with him trying to escape the prison by defeating guardians. "The Voice" is an ally of The Stranger and continually guides him on what to do to escape the prison, through hushed and cryptic messages. I believe this could be RK.
I will be skipping most guardians to condense this post, but you can see the full walkthrough here and judge the story for yourself.
The Line is the third boss in FURI.
The Line sees the Stranger, and converses a little with him before the Stranger takes a shot at him. He deflects the shot with a rock, then states that he foresaw the Strangers coming and essentially tells him that he created a stop in the timeline ("When you appeared... the picture stopped." and "I'm here to make my clocks tick again" hinting towards this.) He then proceeds to insult the Stranger about his inability to foresee while they battle. Dialogue before and during the fight from The Voice and The Line give a strong indication that he had the ability to see into the future before the arrival of The Stranger. After which, he could only foresee that The Stranger would try to escape, not how far he would make it.
The Line is an unusual boss, in that he relies much more on a methodical approach and forming repeatable patterns than other bosses, who often punish such behavior. The Line's attacks are typically slow and predictable, and many are only triggered by your damage, allowing you to set the pace of the fight - but his high damage and tendency to force the player to multi-task can be punishing on early attempts.
The Line only has four phases, but each phase contains an additional "summoned objects" section in addition to the standard Shooting and Close Quarter's Combat (CQC) sections, which result in his fight being both more lengthy and dangerous than previous opponents.
I know this all sounds crazy, but my first thought was that The Line could represent the cyclical nature of Gamestop and could represent why it has taken so long to overcome it. Despite having repeating patterns, beating The Line requires a methodical approach and The Line knew the battle would come.
The Beat is the tenth guardian. This is the guardian we need to beat to unlock ending 2, with the possibility to destroy the world or save it.
Despite being the last boss, she is the weakest in direct combat of all the guardians as her method of combat relies heavily on kiting and using turrets to attack the player.
Much of her dialogue is of her attempting to understand The Stranger and pleading with him to stop. It's implied that the reason she was placed as the last guardian was to humor her, as the last real challenge is The Edge. Alternatively, a weaker but more innocent guardian may have been placed there as a last resort to appeal to The Stranger's compassion after stopping him through force and other means has failed.
I believe we are somewhere around here in the storyline. We are at the point where we have seen nonstop headlines practically begging shareholders to forget GME. We are past many of the difficult bosses, but one challenging boss still remains after The Beat.
The Stranger is also described as "initially highly aggressive and gradually becoming more passive as the game continues". If we do believe The Voice is RK, it may explain why he has changed from his self-described aggressive investment strategies to noting himself as a passive investor in CHWY. We know this is true because in the 13-G he files through Rule 13d-1(c). Maybe he is trying to give us a clue related to the path forward.
To save the intense tinfoil session, I'd like to also mention that the first guardian mentioned on The Stranger's wiki is The Song. The song choice in Roaring Kitty's final video from his tweeting spree, the ET clip is "Goodbye Stranger".
Could be something, could be nothing. Take a look at FURI's storyline and let me know what you think.
