I want to experiment with emulating the look of certain old LCD types and since i use GIMP a bunch already i was wondering if this is maybe possible with it.
Explaining this is a bit tricky, so here is a picture.
I want to take a low resolution screenshot, upscale it by a factor of two but space the "new pixels" apart by an empty line of pixels.
Does this make sense?
Old plasma LCD had a visible screen door effect, i want to simulate this by using a 2x2 grid that represents one pixel from the original image and then use a empty line of pixels as the "screen door".
I have no idea how this actually would look like so i got to try it out, but i am drawing a complete blank on how to space the pixels apart without doing it all manually.
