Hello! I’m new here and hopefully this will be a place I can learn and feel more comfortable about what I’m dealing with. I’m 35/M and I have had bad acid reflux for a good while now.
I use to get heart burn from time to time and even have some regurgitation when I would sleep that would just suck to wake up too. Now that hasn’t happened in a few years but over the last year I’m told I have gerd.
It started when I went to the hospital last year because I thought I was have a heart attack. My heart felt like it was thumping weird and there was this gnawing feeling in my stomach. It also felt like I was trying to swallow something that wasn’t there. They did a bunch of heart tests and said I was fine in that aspect. They said I more then likely had gerd given everything I told them. After a few weeks of eating right my symptoms went away.
Flash forward to about a month ago and I had a really bad attack. Stomach, chest, throat everything went nuts. And of course me being stupid as hell I partially ignored it thinking it would go away. It didn’t. So now I’m back on track but still dealing with symptoms mainly just a bubbling feeling in my stomach and my throat feeling like something is stuck in there.
I have an appointment in January for a Gastro (closest option) and to talk to my primary next week. Sometimes this stuff freaks me out though and sometime it feels like it’s killing me. I’m sure it’s my anxiety and I know more than likely this is due to my terrible eating habits. But looking for some encouraging or any idea of how to lessen my symptoms so I feel better. Everything I eat I google if it’s ok with gerd at this point to make sure.
