Little bit of history. Been on PPI’s for 14 years due to a hiatus hernia. Got covid end of 2021 and had a flare up of reflux, stomach cramping/burning, heartburn etc with anxiety. That went on for about 4 months so I had an endoscope and was told I have fundic benign gland polyps from long term PPI use.
February this year all the above symptoms came but recently before that I switched from lansoprazole to omeprazole as the lans stopped working as well. The omeprazole started giving me chest pressure along with the above symptoms. I recently learned about SIBO so i stopped taking the PPI and was managing the symptoms as best as I can through diet and probiotics.
Been around 7 weeks with no PPI and I had a endoscope today. Results came back as hyperplastic sessile benign polyps. All I got told was to lose weight and stay off the PPI’s.
Reading up about hyperplastic sessile benign polyps and they can be caused by h pylori or gastritis. These were not mentioned to me in my report nor did they take a biopsy today.
I done a stool test with the NHS the other month for h pylori and it came back negative, but I was taking probiotics at the time and I found out after that they can give the test false readings.
I’m just so lost with all this shit now.
