Tip 20 - ask yourself questions and make links
While you’re reading through notes or part of a textbook, pause every sentence or so and ask yourself a question about what you’ve just read. This will help you to process and store the information instead of viewing it passively. If there is a key word in the sentence, make sure you can define it and ensure you can make links within the subject to back you up. A commonly used study method is highlighting text from one topic and turning it into a mind map with links to other topics, you can use notes to further expand your map and fill in any information you forgot. The more you do this, the more links you will have between topics. And in an exam, you aren’t tested on individual topics, everything is brought together. Therefore, being able to make these links is crucial!!
