Tip 19 - Use examples
When you’re taking notes or looking over your work, try and think of examples that link to what you’re seeing. Being able to make links will help the information to stay in your brain for longer. For example, if you want to remember what a PLC is, you can link it to McDonalds in your mind. Then, from this link, you can infer that a PLC is a large company, with shareholders and a separate legal identity (remember all the McDonalds court cases). This concept can be applied to most subjects if you can find a way to connect it to your pre existing thoughts. Some people do this by drawing little pictures or practicing writing notes without any help, just using the links in their brain. Try and apply context and examples from your everyday life so that when you see it you remember what you’ve studied.
