Tip 10 - Model answers and mark schemes

Model answers and mark schemes are your best friends when it comes to revision. If possible, try and make some time to annotate the mark schemes and model answers of past papers. Highlight everything they expect in an answer and make a list so you can apply it to your own work; and use model answers as inspiration. Get a feel for how certain questions are to be set out and try to imitate this style in your own writing. Learning what/how much you are expected to discuss for each question will benefit you a lot when it comes to real exams. Knowing the assessment objectives by going through mark schemes will also allow you to focus your answers on the areas you know will be assessed in the mark scheme - such as context. (A03, anyone?). A revision session spent reviewing mark schemes/model answers is a revision session well spent.
