I’m stuck between taking one of two degrees.

long story short i’m year 10 going to year 11 and i am about to finish my work experience Friday. My work experience involved working in an office that specialises in software development/engineering, etc. If you must know, i found it incredibly enjoyable and something i would like to do as a career. Now i’ve learned that they have an apprenticeship scheme and they’ve accepted apprenticeships based on the work they did for work experience in that office. sounds cool, right?

but the problem is i’m an avid musician and up until last week i wanted to do a music degree. I have been playing instruments for the past few years and music is quite literally the only thing keeping me sane.

now my problem is i obviously can’t do the apprenticeship the degree and the music degree at the same time. With the computer programming career, in theory, i’d be finishing my degree with no student debt - which sounds perfect. Yet I feel like if i go down the software development path i’d end up giving up something that i (apparently) have a talent in.

I’m honestly tempted to stay on for sixth form, do the apprenticeship at 18 and have private music lessions once i’ve finished school. so my question is: What the fuck do i do?

tldr: my work experience is giving me a career crisis.
