Happy Sunday to you all,
Hope none of you are stuck working on the Sabbath! Get out... Enjoy the day.
I’m a 38-year-old Scottish bloke who you’ll find out in the countryside with my two young and energetic labradors, who enjoy frolicking through the long grass or splashing into the river on the farm we are fortunate enough to live on. Their boundless energy is a cruel reminder that they don't have to deal with Monday morning work and grind.
During the week, I masquerade as a physical education teacher, attempting to instill a love of sports in kids who are more interested in finding creative ways to avoid cross country runs. To maintain my sanity, I hit the gym regularly, pretending that lifting weights will somehow turn me into a Marvel superhero. Spoiler alert: it hasn’t worked yet... YET!
Living in the Scottish countryside means I’m surrounded by breathtaking landscapes and proud Scottish hills that seem to go on forever. There are hills to climb and trails to hike, all of which I tackle with the enthusiasm of a man who has accepted that nature is my happy place. Only when it contains dogs.
I've ventured here before, and while my chat skills might be lacking, my dogs always steal the show. So, UNSOLICITED DOG PHOTOS TO ALL DMS. Trust me, they’re the real charmers.
Scotland has experienced a heatwave this weekend, hitting a scorching 22°C. I’m now a bronze-tanned, god-like statue. Or, more accurately, lobster red, because Scottish skin doesn’t tan—it just burns and then sulks.
My Sunday, now that the dogs are walked and the gym has been visited, has a few noble purposes:
- Dive into my writing. I’m not exactly Shakespeare, but it’s my creative outlet to explore my imagination and put pen to paper.
- Watch football. Last game of the season, so it’s couch potato mode with a side of existential dread about what I’ll do next weekend.
- Find someone willing to give some chat to this Scotsman. It’s a simple request, really. Must love my wee Scottish dugs, if that's doable, drop me a line. I'm just a guy looking for a bit of conversation and perhaps, someone who can appreciate the dryness of the Scottish chat.
