Been playing for over a year, currently bouncing between 850 - 950 rapid elo on chess.com (my problem is I don't take online matches as seriously as I do OTB. Sigh). Played more at a 1100-1200 level when in a club, but have since moved and gotten insanely rusty. Thinking about renaming myself "blunder bot 9000".
I want to improve but I'm struggling to find a chess club with meeting days/times that work for me and so I'm seeking a chess buddy who wants to study together and play OTB to keep the other's skills sharp. Strange request on this sub, I know, but variety is the spice of life. If you're expecting me to fuck you at some point, hold off on responding. I am just an innocent pawn trying to make it to the other side of the board of life 🙏
Here are my stipulations:
• if you're free during the day, that would be most ideal
• if you have a chess board, even better (mine is currently in a storage unit for safekeeping)
• preferred time control is rapid
• in terms of YOUR rating, anywhere between 800-1200 should be reasonable. Any lower/higher and it'll just be one person getting whacked every game lol
• don't wanna give my exact location here but I am nearer Birmingham than I am Leicester (so if you're that way of things, that would be impractical)
• ASL, your rapid rating favourite opening as white to prove you've read this in full. Will not respond to "hey" messages.
