Hi!
People are complex and you can never really know how you're going to get along with someone until you actually spend some time with them in real life since someone's personality is difficult to conva in text. I mean, of course, you want to have a good idea of your core values and how compatible you want the people in your life to be with them, but honestly when it comes down to it, it's difficult to just list a set of characteristics and believe that you're magically going to find someone who fits every one of them.
So as you can probably tell already, I'm a deep thinker. That doesn't mean I'm smarter than anyone else, just that I spend a lot of time in thought. I suppose that's sort of why I'm here. I have lots and lots of time on my hands right now that I would love to fill with something else besides thinking—namely getting to potentially know some new people.
I've been single since 2007 after a 5 year relationship ended. I have no friends since around then outside of family members. When I've worked and at university people are friendly but it hasn't extend to socialising outside. I've dyslexia and likely autism but awaiting diagnosis, possible aspergers. People suggest I'm above average intelligence you see.
I've had lots of just over broke (JOB- makes me smile) opportunities and I've held some jobs of responsibility but since leaving university in 2013 with a Business degree and having a ill member of the family while also not working three years while at uni, I found myself unemployeable. I managed to get three weeks work before one christmas and six weeks work experience on a self appointed project for a business, before you assume its all of my own doing and I have not tried to improve my situation. Due to this, I can't afford a romantic relationship or possibly friends in real life.
I love to look into technical and useful things; alternative fuels, my camper van, survival, and solving problems in the future (last night I researched how to rewire our telephone network when BT introduce VOIP technology, but I also love to watch YouTube videos on my projector screen and vintage television shows/movies. I love the sunshine, especially walking our chihuahua in fields.
I think I'm an interesting person to be around although you could get information overload. I don't have a lot of dealbreakers, but I'll tell you that if you lean to the right socially and politically, chances are we will have a lot of common ground.
So I guess the only thing I really would say is a non-negotiable is that you have to be a kind person in general. I just don't find it helpful to make space in my life for people who can't be kind to others or themselves. I'm a sensitive soul, so kindness is a pretty high-value trait in my eyes along with honesty (my ex cheated on me). Other than that, I think I just would like to enjoy getting to know people and forming organic connections rather than filling out "must-have" lists or debating pros and cons like this is a business transaction.
If you haven't been completely put off by this wall of text, I'd love to hear from you! I'm looking forward to getting to know some awesome people. :)
