Or, a Quirky Romance in Three Acts.
Dramatis Personnae
These are the Characters of our Story
- Me: A charming, well-spoken scholar, with a love for bookstores, coffee shops, and museums.
- Her: An interesting stranger with fascinating hobbies, hailing from a storied land.
- You: Why, the main character of this performance, of course!
Act One: The Rendezvous
You would have found this post one evening, on a casual browse of the Subreddit. Just as how She saw it while checking, her homepage the night before. And soon, we're all a flurry of messages, as we exchange wit and banter, before agreeing to a double date this weekend — a little adventure out in the London streets!
The three of us would all be from Reddit, none having met before. We'd probably share pictures with each other, but we would have agreed to get to know each other in person, so that no one will be left out.
So that's why You'll find yourself standing in front of a cute, cosy café on a sunny Saturday morning, heart all a-flutter. You might feel a blush come on, as you approach the spot we'll meet. Sure, you've been on your fair share of dates, and meetups with charming strangers too. But it is the first time you've gone on a double date. If there's any consolation, it would be the same for Me as well!
You take your seat at a corner-side window. And soon, She arrives. Gosh, it's really happening! You both greet each other, and you already feel charmed by Her smile. And not a moment too late, you spot Me on my way, and soon the group's complete!
We'll get our choice of hot beverages at this coffee shop, and get to know each other across a warm, aromatic brew. You'll learn about Me, and my trip to London — how I'm a young scholar, with a love of poetry, Philosophy, and books. And She'll likewise dazzle us with Her brilliance, as she tells her stories, speaking of her endeavours with a passionate smile. Naturally, the both of us will be a-hush, as you recount the tales of your own adventures in turn. Before you know it, we're all charm and laugher, speaking to each other with the familiar warmth of friends!
Act Two: The Adventure
You drain your mug. Are we ready to go on the trip? You ask. The two of us get up, and gather our coats. She compliments you on your scarf. The three of us planned to go to a museum today, where after our initial meetup at the coffee shop, we'll move to a gallery nearby. We head out together, and spend our afternoon in a beautiful exhibit. There are marvellous artefacts on display. I'm all very much impressed, as the choice of venue was decided by one of you — in fact, every person contributed some idea to the overall structure of the date.
What's your favourite painting, I ask. If you had to hang this one up somewhere, what sort of place would you choose? As we pass the hours in these halls, we share thoughts and whisper laugher, and make up silly stories behind the paintings that we see.
And soon, we while away a wonderful afternoon together. Of You, Me, and Her — as three interesting individuals, getting to know three different, but equally resplendent souls.
Act Three: The Finale?
The night is coming. A light drizzle picks up, as wind gently buffers the London streets. The three of us spill out of the museum, and we decide to head out together for dinner, and cocktails too.
Perhaps it is You who does it. Or maybe it's Her, the delightful stranger, who always struck you as adventurous, filled with daring and delightful charm. But soon, we're all hand in hand, with blushes, and we go off like couples, off to a candlelit night.
So what are you waiting for?
Do you want to go on a cute date, with two strangers, out for a quirky romance one Winter's eve? Meet two interesting people, and perhaps even fall in love?
What you read here is but a story, of what I hope this adventure will be.
But the best adventures are only that which is experienced.
So if you want to go on this adventure,
Well,
Then you'd best message me!
Tips on Contacting Me
I welcome both DMs and Messages. But I am most likely to reply to people who write a little about themselves, instead of just a quick and anonymous 'hi.' If you send me a photo of yourself, I will be sure to send you one of my own. And of course, if you send me a long and well-written message, I will be sure to reply. I love long, well-written messages, and I always fall for those! :)
