Google's driverless car: How does it tell a harmless object from a dangerous object on the road?
Post Body
I mean, I can imagine technologies they are using for this. Photogrammetry to determine the position, motion and speed at which an object is moving. But even the fastest computers can only do this stuff so well as far as I know... And how can it tell if say there's an animal or person on the road as opposed to a bag etc.
I imagine there must be answers to these questions but I haven't seen them posted anywhere. Anyone?
