Increasing value in a position

I am new to futures trading. I am doing crypto futures.
If I buy more crypto in a position already purchased, does it increase potential profit? What about adding margin?
If I really like a position I have, which is best—to buy more crypto or increase margin?
Does buying more have any negative effects to the position, such as changing mark price or margin?
Sorry in advance for missing obvious things. I have been at this for only about a month.
