Es mes off by one tick

I've been trading the ESPN lately and I usually enter with limit orders but I noticed most of my position got filled as soon as it touched my limit order as opposed to 1 tick past my entry price.Then I noticed the Es and mes differ slightly by a tick or two.Does anyone have any insight why this is ? I used ninja trader as well don't know if that makes a difference but why are the micros slightly different ? I never got filled on mes when the market touched my limit price only 1 tick past my entry would it get filled.Any advice would be appreciated.
