Just wanted to share a win - I’ve now been clear for like a full month. I maybe get 1-2 very small spots on my forehead, but they go away in a day or two.
I struggled with an FA breakout for about 4 months (end of Nov - end of March). I tried it all ketoconazole cream shampoo, de La Cruz sulfur, head & shoulders, itraconazole pills, selenium sulfide, malezia BP moisturizer, fully FA safe routine for months.
At one point I had about 30-40 whiteheads on my forehead…..
Step 1 -I had a gut test done - my results came back pretty terribly (I don’t have IBS though)..I had fungal bacterial overgrowth that they thought was affecting irritation across my body.
-I started a routine to fully reset my gut which includes colostrum, better probiotics, oil of oregano, caprylic acid, etc
-I started a routine to lower my stress levels as my cortisone was off due to stress specially at night
-I lowered any gluten, sugar, dairy, alcohol, and caffeine intake to less than 10% of my diet. I try to follow a candida diet to best of my ability and maybe treat myself to something once a week
Step 2 -one final round of ketoconazole pills. I took 2 pills a day for 2 weeks, 1 pill a day for the next week. Have not taken any for over a week now.
Step 3 -skincare routine
Morning - wash forehead with dermaharmony zinc bar, rinse rest of face with water. Followed by red stridex across entire face forehead. Wait 30 minutes. Apply dermalogica calm water gel moisturizer on forehead, Biossance vitamin c serum biologique recherche iso-placenta serum on rest of face, Biossance squalane gel moisturizer, elta md sunscreen
Night - if I worked out at gym, wash forehead with ketoconazole shampoo. If not, use dermaharmony bar. Wash rest of face with vanicream gentle moisturizer. Red stridex across entire face forehead. Wait 30 mins. Dermalogica calm water gel moisturizer ordinary squalane oil on forehead, ordinary Hylauronic acid Biossance squalane gel moisturizer on rest of face. If I have any active spots on forehead, I do an overnight spot manuka honey cover
For reference - I work out 3-5 times a week and sweat a shitton. I also went to Coachella weekend 1 where I was sweating for hours etc and came back with NO breakout
