Why are these people always so obsessed with getting married right at 18? It's like a badge of honor for them.

It’s because the “society” that we are raised in considers it a high achievement. Growing up, I heard, “spiritually immature people never get married so young” so they do tie it to holiness. I’m ashamed to admit, I was a condescending, “holier than thou” girl after I got married at 19. I’ve deconstructed and made my apologies.
