I've always been most invested in fushi's story, and not so interested in the others. The second arc was okay, but got really cluttered with characters for my taste, and fushi seemed to take a backseat to everyone else. Do you think the last arc will be more philosophical and stripped down, focusing more on the reality of fushi's immortality, the eventual loss of everyone else, his personal meaning, and the greater conceptual aspects of the manga? I hope it gets more surreal and cosmic like I imagine it might. I really don't want it to just be a bunch of new characters. The last arc should be specifically about fushi.
I hope it will be FAR future as well, and not just some techy advanced society. I miss the old arc setting. Maybe it will skip through huge tracts of time and become more surreal, to really convey the sense of eternity. I've always felt close to this manga for its contemplation of time and its complex ideas that don't get discussed by fans, not really the side characters. This manga is far more than just a sappy tearjerker. There is real philosophical meat to it that none of you seem to see.
