This is mostly about Brotherhood bc I don't remember FMA 2003 so much since I saw it years ago and I never read the manga, so let me know if it's expanded there.
But from my perspective Greed likes to talk about how much he loves the finer things in love and wants power, money, sex, etc. But he never is actually like trying to obtain them. He spent most of his time making a small bit group of friends and dealing with Father and the other Homonculi. He talks a big game.
I'd think he'd be more of a sauve charismatic socialite trying to get into the upper echelons of society, not fighting brawls in sewers. He even spends the begining of his time being reborn being a lacky for Father "I just want to do my job".
The other Homonculi fit their names either aesthetically and/or characteristically. Anyone else notice this? Like he talks a big game about being "Greed the avaricious" but it feels like he just wants to live an individual life outside Father than being greedy.
Is his greed only for independence?
