So to preface, my parents are often hypocritical, stubborn and often selfish. For instance my mother rants about how she only donates to help children and animals and not adults cause they ācan just get a jobā. At the drugstore I told her that the mascara she uses isnāt cruelty free and she replied āI donāt care! Iām not changing MY routine for YOUR beliefs. You canāt always be finger quotes cruelty freeā (even though ELF is cf certified and sells mascara for the same price but thatās besides the point)
Iām a liberal teen living with conservative parents so itās often hard to try to discuss these things without getting shot down and screamed at. Usually I let things slide under the rug unless itās something Iām really passionate about, then I do my best to at least argue my point even though itāll still get shot down.
The acts of Nestle corporations are wildly heinous and Iāve been educating myself on Illusion of Choice and what products and child brands I should avoid. My parents however often do not care about this stuff. The acts of these companies do not effect them so they donāt see anything wrong with it. They often argue their opinions when I present solid facts. So Iām nervous to bring this up. Iāve been gathering websites that state what happens but I know theyāll just say itās bogus (trust me, itās happened before, itāll happen again). So does anybody have any advice on how I should go about this situation?
