Making my own Yogurt worth it?

Post Body

I am in a dilemma where I'm not sure if this is saving me money. Here is the process I go through to make my own yogurt.

I originally started with a store bought yogurt, used most of it and saved the last 2 tablespoons. I add 3 cups whole milk and 1 c half and half for my yogurt to be thicker. I havent bought store yogurt for about 1 month.

Here are the numbers: half and half, 1 quart $7.99 Whole milk, 1 quart $4.99 Yogurt Full fat, 24 oz $7.49

I use the rest of the milk and half and half for recipes throughout the week. The yogurt i use for breakfast, dessert, chicken marinades, and soups. I usually make 8 cups per week and use up the milk and half and half i bought prior. Originally I would buy a 32oz yogurt for $6.99 twice per week.

So is this whole thing worth it?
