What kinds of salad last a long time in the fridge?

I'd love to have some salad for the sandwiches I make for lunch, but it always seems to go soggy and disgusting after about a day or so in the fridge. Since I can't eat a whole lettuce on one sandwich (no, no matter how hard I try), and it'd be pretty wasteful to buy a new bag of salad every day, does anyone have any ideas for anything that would work well?
