Knowing a new home I decided not to go too deep into the trees, I sided with engineers, but I only built the initial overseer towers and used the cooldown when I was able too. that helped a lot.
I got all upgrades completed, generator was finished 7 days ahead of schedule. focusing on docks initially was good.
Food seemed to be abundant in the beginning
after day 37, what are you meant to do exactly for food?
is everyone basically just meant to starve until the icebreaker shows up? because that's what happened.
after I finished the last upgrade, I started promoting workers into engineers and they were put on medical posts. I feel like I should've started promoting them sooner.
I feel like importing workers was the right move, because by the end I had tons of steam cores I didnt' really need. and engineers were too expensive
I did have one dock bringing in coal in the early game, I feel like I could've just imported and used the wood->coal generators all game instead
I had two ventilators, and got rid of both when the gas problem went away, re-using those cores for additional reloaders.
I didn't have an infirmary, I feel like it may have helped.
(maybe the solution is having 2 fishing docks all game?, since you'd stockpile food incredibly hard, you really only need x2 steel docks, maybe one of them being wood early-game)
one issue I guess was I didn't get the 2nd heat setting for the braizers, so the homes were cold even though I had a lot of them.
I had a lot of steel build-up in my reloading bays, so steel was never an issue and I didn't need to go to the ship.
I know people say inmates are an issue etc etc -- but I didn't have any since I didn't go into the trees.
thought I'd get a gameover due to discontent, but it turns out everywhere went on strike instead (after everything was already 100% completed, so it wasn't an issue)
I've had a lot of issues with this scenario in the past, so it's nice to finally beat it in one sitting, but yeah, what the hell are you meant to do in terms of food? operate with less workers in general? because that seems like the only solution.
maybe, fewer workers on the project itself, but having multiple machine's to activate the speed-up cooldown?
I had chapel and the overseers, but no idea how i was meant to increase motivation further. Didn't use the cocaine or the hookers.
dealt with all strikes as soon as they happened with food.
I guess the idea is to not use food for strikes? and to instread be able to stockpile food for the end?
and why is it 'average' when i accomplished all optional upgrades? lol.
