What if Victors mom and sis made it out?

I could be 100% wrong and forgetting something but did we ever see proof they died? Also the cave painting shows two ppl holding hands on one side and a bunch of other ppl on the other side. The right side has one lil square door looking thing and the left has a bunch right where the ppl are. What if those are doors to the outside world and certain ppl have to complete a certain task to make it out their specific door? And Victors mom and sister made it out cuz they did what they were supposed to by making it to the lighthouse?

Again I could be 100% wrong or forgetting something
