Ever since Himmel died, any friend getting up there in age, near the end of their life, Frieren wants to spend significant periods of time with them. I noticed this particularly because Frieren keeps pushing to stay for a decade with Old Man Voll. At first it seemed to be a joke about her not having the same perception of time, but when she brought it up a second time I realized that she spent the last years of Heiter’s life with him before that, I want to say about 4?

My guess is, since a decade is 1/100th of her lifetime, that’s about the same as us spending a year or less with someone, and after she lost Himmel, she feels that getting to spend more time with someone before they die, will always be worth it, as she seemed far less broken about Heiter dying than Himmel. I think the only big unknown exception would be her Master, who she spent well over a decade with, considering she seemed to go from relatively young to talking about putting flowers around her grave when she dies. And since they had that conversation, it’s plausible she was there until her master died. The only difference for Himmel is she only had a decade, and still felt she didn’t know him well enough, and yet those years were arguably the most impactful on her future, aside from those she spent being taught magic perhaps.

Also, unrelated to the post, it’s hard to say for sure if it’s actually a thing because this anime doesn’t go over the top with displaying affection in the sense of constant blushing or nosebleeds, and we rarely see examples of people in relationships, but I’m totally shipping Stark and Fern. The fact that she got mad at him suggesting to replace the bracelet symbolizing eternal love, her making a big deal about Himmel giving Frieren the ring with the mirrored lotus even bringing up the meaning, and just, the way they looked at each other as they danced. I mean, it COULD be platonic but god I hope not. I also loved to see them behind the others talking and him taking her hand as she was hopping off of a log. They’re so cute.
