Now that phase 1 of the exam is over and we have met some of the participants, what do you think will happen? I think it’s pretty clear Frieren will pass, it was expected even before the test began, unless there is something VERY unfair about the test. I also believe she will once again decline getting a spell from Serie, if she is offered one at all.

Fern I’m not so sure. She looked like a strong contender in phase 1 but most of the people in phase 1 were eliminated, including the ones she fought (edit: no they weren’t, my bad), so this might not mean much. If I had to guess I would say she will get close to passing, but ultimately be unable to when she meets a hard problem that can’t be solved with zoltraak. However if she did pass, I think she would choose a very practical spell like teleporting long distances (if such a thing exists, but they make it sound like everything you can imagine exists).

The only other person I see having a real chance is Denken of course. He has shown himself to be both a powerful mage and a resourceful competitor. His one flaw is his motivation to win is a bit lacking, I could imagine a scenario where he decides what he would have to do to succeed is not worth it.

Anyways I’d like to hear what others think about this. (no spoilers pls)
