You know what really grinds my gears? How every liberal pundit/political commentator is so fucking out of touch with what democrats need to do to win elections. Everyone thinks it’s about appealing to moderates and winning them over. How are people so dense? No it’s not about winning the moderates. It’s about winning poor people. Literally all democrats have to do is appeal to the working class and they’ll win. It’s not fucking rocket science, it couldn’t be more obvious if it slapped John and Dan in the fucking face.
You know who’s easy to convince? Desperate people who are struggling just to live. All you gotta do is actually make it so they don’t have to struggle so hard anymore. A fuck ton of deep red states and counties are impoverished, with poor resources for education, economic growth, health, and rehabilitation. They need help. And they need politicians to show (not tell) that they understand what they’re going through and that they will fight for them.
I don’t know if they’re willfully avoiding saying the obvious because they know democrats will just as readily sell out their constituents for a lobbyist payout as any republican or if they’re actually so stupid that they haven’t figured it out yet.
Edit: this is relevant to the pod because they literally talk about how to win over new voters all the time and they never have a good answer
EDIT: to everyone trying to disqualify my argument by pointing out the the recent results out of Virginia, I encourage you to listen to this story. Nice try guys, I’m a DMV native born and raised lol
