So for context, I’ve been really close friends with someone I initially met on Facebook for about a year and a half now. Currently, we’re living together with a group of people to save on money and we’ve been planning to eventually find our own place. A few days ago, he told me a friend of his reached out to him about moving in with him and he’s going to take it.
It’s a great opportunity for him, but I felt very hurt by his decision after he told me countless of times that we’ll find our own place together. Almost every time we make a plan, he flakes on me last minute but has no problem committing to other people. Unfortunately; his actions don’t match his words and it’s pushing me away.
At the same time, we have built a very deep connection and I view him as family. He has shared with me really personal stuff he never tells anyone else and I helped him get out of a toxic relationship. This shows a lot of trust he has in me, but I can’t say the same back. I can’t imagine my life without him, so I really want to trust and believe him. I’m just not sure what to do.
